Summary

The integration of advanced communication infrastructure is crucial for developing sustainable, efficient, and reliable energy systems. Modern smart grids leverage 5G networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable more intelligent energy generation, utilization, and management.


This Special Issue aims to address the challenges by exploring 5G communication technologies, IoT frameworks, and AI algorithms in accelerating the transformation of energy systems. It enables efficient integration of renewable energy sources, smart grid operations, secure and optimized energy storage systems, real-time monitoring, and energy conservation strategies.


Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· 5G applications in renewable energy generation
· IoT-enabled smart grid sensors, actuators, and remote monitoring
· AI-based forecasting and decision-making for energy demand and supply
· Energy conversion and utilization supported by real-time data from 5G and IoT
· 5G- and IoT-enabled energy storage coordination and optimization
· Intelligent energy transmission and distribution with low-latency feedback
· 5G/IoT-enabled demand response and energy management systems (EMS)
· Advanced metering infrastructure and real-time consumption analytics
· Integration of AI/IoT with energy conservation technologies and smart appliances
· Cybersecurity and data protection in AI/IoT/5G-based energy systems
· Role of AI and 5G in sustainable energy policy, system design, and grid resilience
