Summary
The global energy sector is currently navigating a dual challenge: meeting the persistent demand for hydrocarbons while accelerating the transition toward a lower-carbon future. Petroleum engineering is at a critical juncture, where traditional extraction methods must be integrated with digital innovation and environmental stewardship. This research area is vital for ensuring energy security and optimizing resource recovery in an increasingly complex regulatory and geological environment.
This Special Issue aims to provide a high-level platform for researchers to share groundbreaking developments in the field. The scope encompasses the integration of artificial intelligence, the exploitation of unconventional resources, and the implementation of green technologies within the petroleum lifecycle.
Suggested themes include, but are not limited to:
· Application of AI and Machine Learning in Reservoir Simulation.
· Advanced Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and CO2 Sequestration (CCUS).
· Intelligent Drilling and Real-time Completion Technologies.
· Geomechanics and Fracturing Optimization in Unconventional Reservoirs.
· Deep-water and Ultra-deepwater Exploration Challenges.
We invite you to submit your latest original research or comprehensive reviews to contribute to the evolution of modern petroleum engineering.
