Summary

As global energy transition accelerates, the development of marine renewable energy has become one of the critical pathways to achieving the "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" goals. Offshore renewable energy technologies have attracted worldwide attention due to their advantages, such as abundant resources, high stability in power generation, and minimal land-use constraints. From offshore wind power to wave energy, tidal current energy, and even offshore photovoltaic systems and new energy storage technologies, related fields are experiencing rapid development and deep integration. However, the complex and volatile marine environment poses multiple challenges to technological applications, including structural reliability, energy conversion efficiency, system integration, and operation and maintenance. Therefore, in-depth research and innovation in marine renewable energy technologies are not only crucial for promoting high-quality development of the ocean economy but will also provide key support for the global transition toward a greener energy structure.

This special issue aims to gather the latest research achievements in the field of offshore renewable energy technologies and facilitate in-depth discussions on key scientific issues and engineering application challenges. It will focus on innovative design, intelligent control, performance optimization, and system integration of offshore wind energy, ocean energy, offshore photovoltaics, and supporting energy storage technologies.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Dynamic response analysis and structural optimization design of key components of offshore wind turbines;
2.Intelligent control and wake steering optimization techniques for offshore wind farms;
3.Hydrodynamic design of wave energy converters and enhancement of energy capture efficiency;
4.Design and array optimization of tidal current energy generation systems;
5.Structural design and performance optimization of floating offshore photovoltaic installations;
6.Health monitoring, fault diagnosis, and intelligent operation and maintenance technologies for offshore power generation platforms;
7.Design and performance analysis of underwater compressed air energy storage systems;
8.Research on offshore hydrogen/ammonia energy storage technologies and diversified utilization pathways.
