Summary
The energy transition toward more sustainable systems requires a profound transformation not only in energy sources, but also in the way these sources are monitored, assessed, and optimized. This special issue aims to explore the convergence of advanced measurement techniques, metrological science, and modern analytical tools, such as advanced statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence applied to sustainable energy systems.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
·Development of smart sensors;
·Measurement of energy parameters with reduced uncertainty and ensured traceability;
·Application of statistics and uncertainty modeling in renewable energy systems;
·Use of artificial intelligence for automated calibration and device verification;
·Intelligent monitoring and control of power grids and hybrid energy systems;
·Predictive analysis for condition-based maintenance using AI and sensors;
·Metrological infrastructure for clean energy and digitalization of measurement processes;
·Standardization and harmonization of measurements for international data integration;
·Performance evaluation of energy harvesting devices;
·Intelligent assessment of energy storage systems;
·Multicriteria analysis of renewable and/or energy systems, such as 4E analysis.
