Summary

Thermal energy plays a vital role in modern energy systems, particularly in buildings, industry, and urban environments, where heating, cooling, and thermal comfort represent a major share of global energy consumption. Enhancing thermal energy efficiency and developing advanced thermal energy storage technologies are therefore key challenges for achieving sustainable and low-carbon energy systems.

This Special Issue aims to provide a scientific platform for recent advances in thermal energy systems, heat transfer enhancement, and thermal energy storage technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) using phase change materials (PCMs), advanced thermal management strategies, and the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and numerical modeling for thermal and energy system analysis.
