Summary
Chalcogenide materials are important for use in micro- and nanoelectronics, optical communication, in devices such as thin film transistors, planar waveguides, solar elements, LEDs, gas sensors. Crystal structure research includes the study of crystal formation mechanisms, phase equilibria, and the physical properties of single-crystal samples. Of particular importance are the development of new technological methods for producing chalcogenide crystals, the study of the physical properties of doped crystals depending on impurity concentration, and the mechanisms of formation of chalcogenide compounds.
This Special Issue of Chalcogenide Letters focuses on the research of the structure and physical properties of chalcogenide-based materials and their applications in optics and semiconductor industry. The issue will include original research articles, reviews, and short communications on the synthesis, characterization, and applications of chalcogenide compounds, including sulfides, selenides, tellurides, and related alloys.
Cover topics including but not limited to the following:
· Crystallography of chalcogenide-based materials.
· Nano-structured chalcogenide systems.
· Optoelectronic and electrical properties of chalcogenide materials.
· Phase transitions in chalcogenide systems.
· Device fabrication and functional applications.
· Chalcogenide materials design and simulation.
