Summary

This special issue of Oncology Research highlights the latest advancements and research in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric solid tumors. Pediatric solid tumors, including neuroblastomas, Wilms' tumors, and sarcomas, pose unique challenges due to their diverse presentations and the need for tailored therapeutic approaches. This issue provides a comprehensive overview of recent innovations in diagnostic techniques, such as advanced imaging modalities and molecular diagnostics, which enhance early detection and precise characterization of these tumors. Furthermore, the issue explores cutting-edge treatment strategies, including targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and novel drug formulations, designed to improve outcomes and minimize long-term side effects in young patients. By integrating multidisciplinary perspectives, the special issue aims to present a holistic view of current best practices and emerging trends in pediatric oncology.

    Abstract Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the most common solid tumors in pediatric patients and the leading cause of childhood cancer-related mortality. Their rarity compared to adult cancers has made enrolling sufficient cases for clinical trials challenging.
