Summary

Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) applications are brooming. They are used to process, analyze, and manage the enormous amount of data generated from smart cities. Some other applications of smart cities are urban design, location-based services, transportation management, and many more. Developing these IoT and smart city applications involves various challenges, including data security and privacy, data visualization, and data mining. Blockchain-assisted IoT (BIoT) applications can provide innovative security and privacy solutions to urban computing and smart cities. Blockchain being a decentralized, secure, and transparent information sharing platform, BIoT applications can provide sophisticated solutions to improve existing urban computing solutions to smart city.

In light of the above-said research opportunities, the special issue is going to cater to the information needs of professionals and researchers in industry and government as well as academics, researchers, and students. This issue will also appeal to those concerned about the performance enhancement of smart environments such as smart cities, smart grids, smart globe, and industrial automation. This special issue aims to enhance technological innovation for the development of various modern applications using Urban computing, green computing, Cloud computing, Blockchain technology, IoT, and deep learning.
