Summary

With rapid technological advancements across the globe, many sub areas are emerging in the communication and computers arena. This motivates the researchers to innovate, ideate and prototype knowledge-based and intelligent systems around conventional systems. Mathematical modelling and algorithm development provides the basis for any real-time system design, research and development. This special issue solicits high-quality contributions towards developing mathematical models and algorithms for various next generation systems. Mathematical modelling and analysis help in faster and accurate decision making leading to the development of infallible systems. Algorithm design has a huge impact on the entire models. When designed properly, these algorithms reduce the system complexities and improve flexibility. Adaptive algorithms in recent time have gained significant ground in applications such as signal processing, computer vision, blockchain and other allied fields. Now days all the communication and computer systems are self-sustaining with their own intelligence based on signal processing and computer algorithms. Therefore, development of such algorithms leads to the practical realization of real time intelligent systems. This aspect finds applications in the thrust areas like array processing, biomedical engineering, defense systems, space applications, satellite communications, wireless communications, health care monitoring systems, medical telemetry, remote operations, sensor networks, VLSI circuits, MEMS systems, Wearable and implantable systems. This issue mainly focuses on major challenges and trends in this area to identify techniques helpful for the development of next generation intelligent systems.
