Summary

Rapid urbanization and the proliferation of IoT devices are generating vast, heterogeneous data streams, making advanced data fusion and digital twin technologies essential for efficient and sustainable smart city management. These innovations enable real-time monitoring, simulation, and optimization of complex urban systems.


This Special Issue aims to explore cutting-edge computational approaches that integrate data fusion, IoT infrastructures, and urban digital twins to enhance smart city performance. It seeks high-quality contributions addressing modelling, simulation, optimization, and intelligent decision-making in urban environments. Topics of interest include scalable architectures, data-driven models, and advanced analytics that support resilient, efficient, and adaptive city systems. Both theoretical developments and practical applications are welcome, with emphasis on interdisciplinary methods aligned with the journal's focus on computational techniques and intelligent systems.

Suggested themes include, but are not limited to:
· Data fusion techniques for heterogeneous urban data
· IoT architectures and communication frameworks for smart cities
· Computational modeling and simulation of urban digital twins
· AI and machine learning for smart city analytics
