This Special Issue focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data-driven materials informatics, computational modeling, simulation, and optimization for the design, prediction, characterization, and performance evaluation of sustainable engineering materials. The issue prioritizes studies with a clear computational, algorithmic, or materials-informatics contribution, including AI/ML models for materials-property prediction, computational simulation of advanced materials, data-driven materials discovery, digital twins, multi-objective optimization, and intelligent performance modeling of composites, coatings, nanomaterials, polymers, ceramics, and energy materials.
The Special Issue welcomes original research and high-quality review articles that integrate computational methods with materials science and engineering applications. Studies based only on descriptive experimental results, general sustainability discussion, or decision-making models without a clear computational materials-informatics contribution will be considered outside the main focus of this issue.
Suggested themes include:
