Summary

The paradigm shift towards "Collaborative Intelligence" across next-generation computing architectures, spanning the edge-cloud network continuum, distributed routing fabrics, and large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) applications, unlocks unprecedented processing capabilities but introduces critical, multidimensional security concerns. As computing power decentralizes and permeates complex physical networks, ranging from autonomous vehicular ad-hoc networks to smart urban communication infrastructures, traditional centralized security perimeters have become manifestly obsolete. From protocol-level algorithmic exploits and quantum-era privacy threats to cascading network-wide failures, securing these decentralized ecosystems is an urgent imperative. This demands a fundamental transition toward endogenous network security, cryptographic privacy, and dynamic protocol resilience. This Special Issue aims to provide a premier forum for researchers and practitioners to present state-of-the-art network architectures, secure communication protocols, and deployment models. We actively seek interdisciplinary approaches that fuse advanced cryptographic primitives, robust machine learning, and decentralized trust mechanisms to secure next-generation computing environments.
