The evolution of next-generation computing environments (Edge-6G-Cloud) is accelerating the emergence of Innovative Internet Services (IIS) that go beyond simple information delivery to autonomously perceive, decide, and act. IIS encompasses Physical AI (Embodied AI, Robotics) that blurs the boundaries between physical and digital spaces, Agentic AI that autonomously performs complex tasks on behalf of users, and Blockchain-based Web3 services that realize decentralized trust economies. These services are fundamentally characterized by real-time decision-making and proactive environmental adaptation, enabled by hyper- connectivity and ultra-low latency.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) serves as the cognitive engine of IIS, providing the autonomy and intelligence that define these services. However, the increasing intelligence of services and the decentralization of infrastructures simultaneously expand the cyberattack surface, introducing novel threats such as adversarial attacks on AI models, vulnerabilities in distributed ledgers, and large-scale privacy breaches. Fully realizing the potential of IIS requires the integrated design of intelligent service optimization and self-healing security frameworks.
This Special Issue invites research on the convergence of AI technologies for implementing IIS— represented by Physical AI, Agentic AI, and Web3—and cybersecurity technologies for ensuring their trustworthiness.
