Summary

The rapid evolution of the "Virtual Reality Continuum" (VRC)—spanning Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR)—is reshaping how we interact with the digital and physical worlds. With the advent of the Industrial Metaverse and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AIGC), the boundaries between virtual spaces and industrial operations are becoming increasingly blurred. This special issue aims to capture the latest breakthroughs in "Reality Fusion," focusing on how AI-driven content creation, immersive interaction, and digital twin technologies are revolutionizing industrial applications.

This special issue invites researchers and practitioners to submit high-quality original research papers, particularly those selected from the ACM SIGGRAPH International Conference on Virtual-Reality Continuum and its Applications in Industry (VRCAI 2026, https://vrcai.cn/committee.html). We encourage submissions that explore the synergy between AI and VR, novel interaction interfaces, and scalable VRC systems applied to manufacturing, healthcare, cultural heritage, and smart cities. By bridging the gap between foundational theories and practical industrial solutions, this issue seeks to define the future of the immersive internet.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Generative AI for 3D Modeling and Virtual Scenes
· Real-time Rendering and 3D Visualization Techniques
· Ubiquitous VR/AR/MR Systems and Architectures
· Multimodal Interaction
· Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) for Immersive Environments
· Distributed and Collaborative Virtual Environments
· Haptic Interfaces and Multisensory Feedback
· Smart Cities and Urban Planning Visualization
· Computer Vision for Tracking and Scene Understanding
· Intelligent Virtual Characters and Digital Humans
· Industrial Metaverse and Digital Twins for Manufacturing
