Summary
This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in hydraulic machinery, fluid power systems, and the complex interactions between fluid dynamics and system design and optimization. It welcomes high-quality contributions addressing fundamental, numerical, and applied research in a wide range of areas. Topics of interest include hydraulic turbines such as hydro, tidal, and ORC systems; pumps and pump-turbines; cavitation phenomena and multiphase flows; and fluid–structure interactions within hydraulic equipment. Particular emphasis is placed on innovative approaches for performance enhancement, including optimization techniques, surrogate modeling, and CFD-based analyses. The Special Issue also highlights the growing role of hydraulic systems in renewable energy applications. By bringing together multidisciplinary perspectives, it aims to foster knowledge exchange and support the development of efficient, reliable, and sustainable hydraulic technologies for modern engineering challenges.
The special issue includes the following scope:
· Hydraulic turbines (e.g., hydro, tidal, and ORC systems)
· Pumps and pump-turbines
· Cavitation phenomena and multiphase flows
