Summary
Genitourinary cancers comprise a heterogeneous group of malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and other tumors, with substantial differences in their molecular characteristics, clinical behavior and response to treatment. Although advances in molecular oncology have improved the understanding and management of these tumors, disease progression, metastasis, therapeutic resistance and interpatient variability remain major clinical challenges. The identification and validation of molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets are therefore essential for improving risk stratification, treatment selection and patient outcomes. This Special Issue aims to highlight emerging molecular targets and biomarkers involved in the initiation, progression and therapeutic response of genitourinary cancers. Contributions addressing genomic, transcriptomic, epigenetic, metabolic and proteomic alterations, as well as mechanisms of tumor progression, metastasis, immune regulation and treatment resistance, are particularly encouraged. Studies exploring liquid biopsy, multi-omics approaches, molecular profiling, artificial intelligence and other innovative strategies for biomarker discovery and patient stratification are also welcomed. Importantly, this Special Issue will emphasize the translation of molecular discoveries into precision oncology, including targeted therapies, immunotherapy, combination strategies and biomarker-guided interventions. By bringing together basic, translational and clinical research, the Special Issue seeks to advance the understanding of genitourinary cancer biology and promote innovative approaches for personalized cancer management.
