Dr. Omar S. Dahham works at the Faculty of Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering (Polymer) from Universiti Malaysia Perlis in 2018. At the international level, He is the chairman for the International Conference on Materials Engineering and Science (IConMEAS) series and International Conference on Applied Science and Manufacturing (IConAMA). He is also an editor, guest editor, and publication manager in several journals and proceedings. His current research interests include nanomaterials and green and renewable materials. He published over 100 research papers in the field of materials science and engineering.

With the current development of nanotechnology, many different high-quality, cost-effective nanomaterials have come into use in various applications. However, the needs for renewable resources-based nanomaterials has been inevitable and increasing gradually in the last few years. Therefore, scientists attempt to use renewable resources as feedstocks to develop their desired products. The current special issue, "Current advances in green nanomaterials applications" presents to readers articles covering different aspects of the synthesis, characterizations and applications of renewable resources-based nanomaterials.
