Summary

Cytokines are key messenger molecules of the immune system, playing a central role in coordinating innate and adaptive immune responses. However, excessive production or imbalance of cytokines can lead to a 'cytokine storm', which is a common pathological feature of various inflammatory diseases. In recent years, with the rapid development of precision treatment methods such as monoclonal antibodies, JAK inhibitors, and small molecule targeted drugs, cytokine regulation has moved from empirical immunosuppression to a new stage of targeted precision intervention. This special issue aims to systematically summarize the latest mechanism research, clinical translation progress, and emerging treatment strategies in cytokine pharmacology regulation, providing cutting-edge perspectives for researchers and clinical doctors in this field.

The core themes of the solicitation revolve around the molecular mechanisms and drug targets of cytokine signaling pathways, biological agents targeting cytokines, small molecule immunomodulators, emerging treatment strategies and technologies, clinical translation, and precision medicine.

This special issue will integrate interdisciplinary advances, connect basic mechanisms and clinical translation, focus on cutting-edge technologies such as nanomedicine and artificial intelligence, and provide evidence-based guidance for precise treatment decision-making and safety management of inflammatory diseases.
