Summary
Plants are constantly challenged by environmental, physiological, and developmental factors that affect growth, establishment, productivity, and resilience. In this context, bioactive compounds and emerging technologies have become promising tools to modulate plant responses at multiple biological levels, from molecular and biochemical regulation to whole-plant performance. Natural extracts, secondary metabolites, algal-derived products, and other bioactive substances may act as biostimulatory or protective agents, while emerging technologies offer innovative approaches for extraction, formulation, delivery, and application.
This Special Issue aims to gather original research and review articles that address integrative plant responses to bioactive compounds and emerging technologies, with an emphasis on linking molecular and biochemical mechanisms to physiological performance and crop outcomes. Contributions involving seeds, seedlings, mature plants, and controlled or field conditions are welcome. Interdisciplinary studies combining physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, omics, bioinformatics, and applied plant science are especially encouraged.
Suggested themes include bioactive extracts, biostimulants, seed vigor, plant establishment, redox regulation, secondary metabolism, stress physiology, signaling pathways, emerging extraction and application technologies, and sustainable strategies for improving crop performance in agricultural, horticultural, and medicinal plant systems.
