Summary

Kidney cancer, particularly renal cell carcinoma (RCC), remains a major urological malignancy with surgical resection representing the mainstay of curative treatment. In recent years, advances in minimally invasive surgery, imaging, perioperative management, and integration of systemic therapies have revolutionized the surgical landscape. Despite significant progress, controversies persist regarding the optimal surgical approaches, the role of lymph node dissection, cytoreductive nephrectomy in the immunotherapy era, and surgical management of complex or hereditary RCC.

This Special Issue aims to bring together leading experts and emerging voices to present the latest evidence, surgical innovations, and critical reviews on key topics in the surgical treatment of renal cancer. Original research, systematic reviews, and high-quality narrative reviews that can help guide clinicians, inform guidelines, and identify future research directions are welcome.
