Summary
Pelvic pain in urological conditions such as chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome, bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis, and urethral pain disorders is of particular clinical relevance. These conditions not only share complex pathophysiological mechanisms but also underscore the importance of translational research bridging basic science and clinical management.
Pelvic pain is one of the most difficult painful conditions and one of the most challenging to treat. The pain is associated with different complexities such as psychological impact, lack of experts in this area and the lack of definitive treatments.
This issue will focus on providing a comprehensive guide for the. Management of pelvic pain can be used worldwide to fill this gap in knowledge and provide the best available treatment options for patients with pelvic pain. The issue will discuss topics to understand the anatomy, mechanisms of pain, conservative management, interventional procedures and advanced procedures for the management of chronic pelvic pain.
We encourage researchers to submit their valuable work in relation to this topic to provide their expertise and assist in advancing the care for pelvic pain worldwide.
