Summary
Urologic diseases—including malignancies such as prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers, benign disorders, lithiasis, infections, and kidney injury—impose a rising global healthcare burden, with critical unmet needs in mitigating treatment resistance, reducing adverse events, and enabling effective preventive intervention. Natural products, featuring multi-target bioactivity, favorable safety profiles, and low drug resistance risk, represent an invaluable therapeutic reservoir for urologic care. This Special Issue showcases the latest bench-to-bedside advances, from mechanistic dissection and target identification to preclinical development and clinical translation of natural products for urologic diseases, addressing key gaps in delivery optimization, combination therapy, and evidence-based clinical application.
Suggested Themes
· Mechanisms and therapeutic targets of natural products across the full spectrum of urologic diseases
· Novel delivery systems and AI-driven discovery of bioactive natural compounds
· Clinical evidence and preventive strategies of natural product-based interventions
· Combination therapies and traditional herbal formulae for urologic care
We warmly invite researchers and clinicians from urology, urologic oncology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and integrative medicine to contribute to this Special Issue. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, this issue aims to advance the discovery, mechanistic studies, preclinical development, and translational application of natural products for urologic diseases, helping to improve treatment efficacy, safety, preventive strategies, and ultimately patient outcomes and quality of care.
