Summary
The field of urology is experiencing unprecedented transformation through technological innovation, evolving surgical techniques, and enhanced understanding of urological diseases. A special issue on recent advances in urology would provide the Canadian Journal of Urology with an opportunity to showcase cutting-edge research and clinical developments that are reshaping urological practice globally.
Contemporary urological care has been revolutionized by minimally invasive technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery, advanced imaging modalities, and precision medicine approaches. The integration of artificial intelligence in diagnostic pathology, radiomics in prostate cancer detection, and molecular biomarkers for risk stratification represents paradigmatic shifts requiring comprehensive academic discourse. Furthermore, emerging therapeutic modalities such as focal therapy for prostate cancer, novel immunotherapeutic agents, and regenerative medicine applications demand scholarly examination.
Aim and Scope:
A dedicated special issue would attract high-quality submissions from leading international researchers while positioning the Canadian Journal of Urology as a premier venue for urological innovation. This initiative would enhance the journal's visibility, impact factor, and scholarly reputation while providing readers with comprehensive coverage of field-defining advances. The timing is optimal, as many breakthrough technologies and therapeutic approaches are transitioning from experimental phases to clinical implementation, requiring critical evaluation and dissemination to the broader urological community.
This special issue will particularly highlight research with clinical relevance, including advancements in surgical techniques, diagnostic innovations, precision medicine applications, and emerging therapies ready for translation to patient care.
Suggested themes shall be listed:
-Minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery in clinical practice
-Advanced imaging modalities for diagnosis and surgical planning
-Translational radiomics and artificial intelligence in urological diagnosis
-Precision medicine and molecular biomarkers for risk stratification and treatment guidance
-Focal therapy for prostate cancer: clinical applications and outcomes
-Novel immunotherapeutic agents in urology
-Regenerative medicine applications in urological diseases
